What kind of MagicBands are there?

The basic, solid color MagicBands come in a variety of colors: pink, blue, red, green, orange, gray, purple, and yellow. You can choose which color you prefer when you order them in your My Disney Experience (MDE) account. (The complimentary service will end with trips in January 2021.)

What’s the difference between MagicBand 1 and 2?

The center part of the MagicBand 2 is a bit larger – it looks more like a watch than the original band. The primary difference of the MagicBand 2 is the center Mickey – called the icon. The center icon in the MagicBand 2 is removable, and can be used in accessories that are sold in the parks and many independent shops.

How do I activate my MagicBand?

At the very bottom of the MagicBands page you’ll see the “Link” option. Select “MagicBand” on the next page and then enter your new MagicBand ID number located on the inside of your MagicBand. You can also follow this link to go directly to the MagicBand link page. Voila!

Can you use older MagicBands?

MagicBands can be used again and again for your next Disney trips if you choose. If you have an old band from a previous on-property stay but are staying off-property on your next Disney vacation, you can take advantage of the convenience of reuse at no additional cost.

Will Disneyland ever get MagicBands?

Are there any magic bands that are reusable?

Yes, Magic Bands are reusable. Magic Bands run off of a small battery inside the band. Disney says the batteries are designed to last for 2 years. I have read of Magic Band batteries lasting for up to four years.

What’s the difference between MagicBand 2 and MagicBand 1?

MagicBand 2 features a new design, making it even more customizable and versatile while maintaining the same convenience of the original MagicBand. The “gem” or fob (the center piece) of the band can be removed (with a tiny screwdriver) and put in an assortment of accessories so that it can be worn or carried in other ways than on the wrist.

Do you get a MagicBand if you buy an annual pass?

FastPass+ service is not offered with the purchase of tickets or annual passes. We will share future updates at a later date. You will automatically receive a MagicBand if you are a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder.
