For inpatients staying on wards at East Surrey Hospital We are happy to facilitate one visitor for one hour per day, between the hours of 11am and 7pm (We are sorry that this does not include our planned surgical wards, or patients who test positive for COVID-19.)

Are you allowed to visit family in hospital?

Most hospitals have times at which you can visit your friend or relative. Hospitals encourage relatives and friends to visit patients. But patients can get tired very quickly. For this reason, the number of visitors each patient is allowed is usually restricted, typically to no more than 2 people at any one time.

Can I visit someone in hospital from 19th July?

Visits are limited to one agreed visitor – an immediate family member or carer – as agreed with the patient. Please make sure you bring confirmation of your visiting appointment to the hospital to ensure you smooth entrance to the hospital.

There are currently 5 wards specialising in caring for patients over the age of 75 which are Horley, Integrated Reablement unit (IRU), Kingsfold, Nutfield and Smallfield wards. Each ward has a dedicated multi-disciplinary team focused on caring for elderly patients.

Can my partner stay with me overnight in hospital?

Any adult family member or friend who does not require supervision or physical assistance may spend the night with you in the hospital. Only one guest at a time may stay overnight. A sleeper sofa is available in your room for a guest spending the night.
