Upcoming Event in Okinawa
If you’ve been checking in on More Things Japanese over the past month and noticed there haven’t been many posts… It’s because I took a bit of time off to work. With a few special projects I haven’t had the time it takes to edit photos, write, and create quality blog posts. I should be able to get back to sharing more of Japan with you very soon.
In the mean time, I want to share some information about a special event coming up in just a few weeks.
Around the world, the United States Embassies sponsor “American Corners” at local libraries. These sections give children English-language resources, events, and more information on the USA. This year, the American corners in Okinawa are celebrating 10 years. The Urasoe Library will be celebrating the tenth year with a special presentation on September 14, 2014 starting at 10:00 AM.
This free event is open to the public and will be featuring a guest speech by author… Benjamin Martin. I’ll be presenting on my two books Samurai Awakening and Revenge of the Akuma Clan, answer questions about craft and process, and talk about life in America and on small islands.
The event will be in English with Japanese translations. I look forward to seeing you there!
